So The Sims 4 Can Actually Be Played Like This? A Roundup of Big Mods You Might Not Know About (Romance Edition)
It's said that 70% of The Sims 4 players are women. If that's true, you'll probably love this series of mods today~
Passionale Romance
Author: Sacrificial
Show your passion to the one you love with new romantic interactions that make relationships better. You can now use a new interaction called "Passionate Romance." New romantic interactions include:
- Cuddle: You can cuddle up against your lover.
- Flirt: Flirt with your lover.
- Romantic Hug: Hug your lover.
- Intense Kiss: Share an intense kiss with your lover. If your Sim already has a positive romantic relationship with the lover, they will accept and kiss your Sim; if not, you'll get slapped!
- Romantic Selfie: Your Sim will kiss the chosen lover and take a romantic selfie with them.
- Romantic Selfie (Manual): Your Sim will take a romantic selfie with the chosen lover in photo mode.
Your Sim will gain friendship and romantic affection through these interactions. While performing any interaction, your Sim will also gain the "Feeling Loved" romantic emotion; all romantic interactions will make other lovers jealous.
Romantic Slow Dance
Requires version 1.44.77.1020 or later; compatible with the Seasons expansion pack.
On this cold Valentine's Day, here's a heartwarming slow dance for you~ "Romantic Slow Dance" is unlocked through interactions with your loved one, and is unlocked together with the "Hug" interaction in the Romance menu. In a true slow dance, as time passes, you'll forget all pain and continue to build friendship and love with your beloved. In this moment frozen by love, you can hug and kiss your beloved, and strengthen your true love vows.
No Strings Attached
Adds a new relationship type for your Sims: "friends with benefits." Any Sim can form this relationship with any number of Sims, and they won't be jealous of each other.
This relationship allows a connection without romance. Sims who are "friends with benefits" will keep their Romance bar at 0 and won't get jealous of each other. They unlock a new menu, "Friends with Benefits," which contains all romantic interactions available to them (note: some interactions only apply to Sims who already have an official relationship and who usually interact regularly with their "friends with benefits"). To ask to become friends with benefits, the Sims must have a little friendship and must be adults; Sims cannot ask their boyfriend/girlfriend.
The point of a friends-with-benefits relationship is no emotional commitment. But if you get too close, feelings will gradually develop, and the two of you will feel a little sad when you're together.
First Love [Supports 1.70]
This mod's general idea is to build feelings during childhood and slowly increase affection; the higher the affection, the more options you unlock. Once you reach a certain level, you can become "friends," and then take it wherever you want. Combined with social categories and relationships, you can get even more interactions.
Triggers:
- The child's Mental skill reaches level 2.
- The two children have a high friendship value (at least 75).
At this point, when they click on each other, there will be a new interaction menu called "Childhood Sweethearts." Being near a crush gives you a special buff, and every 30 minutes a hidden "relationship progress" slowly builds up. Through the interactions in this menu, you can continuously accumulate hidden relationship points. After exchanging phone numbers with your first love, you can also have long phone calls and send super sweet texts. Gradually you'll receive notifications that the relationship is progressing and unlock three new interactions—leaving them for you to discover!
If one of the two children is about to age up into a teen, a hidden 7-day countdown automatically begins. During these 7 days, the only option between the two Sims in the interaction menu is "Ask to Become Friends," which clears all hidden First Love values and the First Love relationship. If both Sims are going to age up into teens and meet within the 7-day countdown, they will receive a hidden buff that records their romantic relationship as 50, meaning they will stay together! If they haven't aged up by the end of the countdown (divine intervention), they will keep the "First Love" relationship but will have no special interaction options; after that, if they want to keep a romantic relationship after aging up to teens, they will have to start over.
Roommates
This mod lets you live with roommates and supports mixed-gender living (the relationships here are a bit mysterious—maybe one day your roommate gets pregnant, but who did it? Perhaps... you?). You can also travel with roommates, go to clubs together, and many other features.
Crush / Kawaii Stacie [Supports 1.72]
Author: plzsaysike
Click the Sim who makes your heart flutter, choose the "Romance" menu, then select "Set as Love Interest." From then on, whenever you see them, you'll be surrounded by pink bubbles~
Of course, if you're someone who is "forever alone" (bad at flirting), you'll feel a bit awkward when you see the person who makes your heart flutter... If your feelings change and you fall for someone else, there's still hope:
As it turns out, a crush either fades away or ends in a confession. A confession has only two possible outcomes—going separate ways or getting together. So when you ask your love interest whether they want to become boyfriend/girlfriend, the "crush" relationship between you disappears. If the confession succeeds, you naturally take things further; if it fails, every time you see that person for the rest of your life, you'll be enveloped in embarrassment and sadness, remembering the painful memory of being rejected. Only when you eventually get together, or die, will that sad memory fade away.
Road to Romance
This mod redefines romantic interactions and creates a dedicated "Romance skill." As your Romance skill levels up, you can unlock multiple exclusive romantic interactions and more detailed romantic settings. From romance novice to romance master—can you do it?
