The Sims 4 | CAS 5-Column Grid Installation Tutorial (Beginner-Friendly)

Xiao Ying SAKURA Gong Zhu·5/19/2026

Introduction

Many newcomers wonder: in The Sims 4, the default CAS shows only 2 columns, yet there are so many options that browsing is a hassle. How do content creators get 3, 4, or even 5 columns? You need a custom 3/4/5-column mod. Today, I'm sharing the installation method for the 5-column grid mod right here.

Installation Requirements

This is the latest version of the mod, compatible with game version 1.84.171 and above. It's been tested and works on 1.87–1.88. If you're on a version lower than 1.84.171, please look for an older version.

Installation Steps

Check images P1 and P2 for a visual guide. Below are the step-by-step text instructions.

  1. Just like any other functional mod, simply place More_CAS_Columns_5_Columns_package.package into your C:\Users\25544\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods folder. Importantly, do NOT put it inside any subfolder of the Mods folder, or the game won't be able to read it.
  2. In the game settings (Main Menu → Options → Other), enable both "Enable Custom Content and Mods" and "Script Mods Allowed" so the mod runs properly in the game.

Quick Tips

Your Mods folder must not contain any unzipped files, or the game won't recognize them. So if you downloaded the mod as a compressed file (rar, zip, etc.), make sure to extract it first—mods in the Mods folder should normally have the .package extension.
