I Want All the Girls! How to Safely Maintain a Harem in Stardew Valley
In Stardew Valley, if you are unmarried and have reached 10 hearts of friendship with all marriageable single NPCs and have seen their 10-heart events, entering a specific location will trigger the 'harem backfire' cutscene. However, if you carry a Rabbit's Foot, the scene becomes a friendly pool game, avoiding the collective cold shoulder.
Conditions to Trigger the Harem Event
- Unmarried
- Have 10 hearts of friendship with all single male NPCs (or all single female NPCs)
- Have viewed all 10-heart events
- For male characters: Enter the Stardrop Saloon
- For female characters: Enter Haley's house
How to Safely Avoid It
Carry a Rabbit's Foot in your backpack. When the event triggers, it turns into a friendly pool game, and all NPCs won't get angry or give you the cold shoulder.
Consequences of Triggering It Without the Foot
If you don't have a Rabbit's Foot, all involved NPCs will collectively express anger and begin a week-long cold shoulder. During this time, their dialogue will be angry, and they will refuse all gifts. After about a week, they will forgive you, and dialogue returns to normal. This event triggers only once per save file.
How to Obtain a Rabbit's Foot
The Rabbit's Foot is an animal product said to bring good luck. You need to upgrade your Coop to the maximum level (Deluxe Coop), then buy and raise rabbits; rabbits occasionally drop a Rabbit's Foot. Remember to pet your rabbits daily to improve their mood and increase drop chances.
