Minecraft Survival Guide: Building a Home and Gathering Resources Without Killing

Starting Survival Steps

First, you need to chop trees (get at least three logs), craft a wooden pickaxe, and immediately mine three stones to upgrade to a stone pickaxe. Then keep mining stone (prepare at least 11) and look for coal and iron ore.

Once you have resources, craft a furnace to smelt iron ore. To stick with the "no killing" strategy, the key step is to craft shears and shear sheep to get three wool for a bed.

Next, craft a stone axe to chop more wood (dozens, just enough). Also remember to craft a shield to protect yourself. If you have enough iron, prioritize making an iron pickaxe; with extra iron, craft a set of armor for better defense.

After completing these preparations, take a walk around to get familiar with the terrain. Usually it won't be sunset yet, but once dusk arrives, immediately sleep in the bed to skip the night before any mobs spawn, minimizing combat as much as possible.
