Minecraft SlashBlade Tutorial Part 1: Introduction and Basics
Introduction to the SlashBlade Mod
SlashBlade is a famous Japanese-style mod for Minecraft that adds a sense of impact and action elements. It not only provides visually stunning and highly personalized weapons but also introduces high-speed combos, dazzling special effects, and a powerful skill system.
Ten steps to kill one man, a thousand miles without leaving a trace.
When the deed is done, brush off your clothes and leave, hiding your name and form.

Core Features of the Mod
- Rating System: Introduces a combat rating mechanism from C to SSS. The higher the rating, the greater the damage dealt. At S-SSS levels, weapons possess extremely high lethality.
- Growth Mechanism: Each SlashBlade needs to grow through continuous combat and forging. By accumulating kill counts and Proud Souls, the blade's attributes gradually improve.
- Diverse Skills: Players can trigger various skills through mouse operations, such as area sweeps, wall-piercing kills, etc. Some skills require specific enchantments to activate.
- Weapon Display: The mod provides various blade stands; a SlashBlade is both a powerful weapon and a beautiful work of art.
- Version Compatibility: Compatible with a wide range of versions, including mainstream ones like 1.7.10, 1.10.2, 1.12.2, and has good integration and extensions with mods like IndustrialCraft 2 (IC2), Wa, and Touya Lake.
Getting Started: Your First Blade
The SlashBlade progression path is very flexible, but almost all evolution routes start with the most basic weapon: the Nameless Blade "Puppet".
Crafting the Nameless Blade "Puppet"
Crafting the Puppet requires a wooden sword that has lost 1 point of durability. Note, it must be exactly 1 point of durability lost (e.g., by attacking a creature once). If you lose 2 durability by breaking blocks, it cannot be used for the recipe.
Crafting Recipe:
- Any Oak Log ×2
- Wooden Sword with 1 Durability Used ×1
In the crafting table, place the wooden sword in the bottom-left corner and arrange the two logs diagonally to craft it.
Core Materials and Resource Acquisition
In the early stages of development, it is recommended to craft a large number of Nameless Blades. When a SlashBlade's durability is completely depleted, it will drop either a Proud Soul Shard or a Broken Proud Soul (also called Blade Proud Soul). These materials are core to subsequent forging and repair.
1. Proud Soul Shards and Repair
Proud Soul Shards can be used to repair damaged SlashBlades. Place the damaged blade and any material (like cobblestone, dirt, etc.) together in the crafting grid to restore durability. The amount restored depends on the quantity of material placed, not its rarity, so it's recommended to use cheap materials for repair.
2. Proud Soul Ingot
The Proud Soul Ingot is a basic material for advanced crafting. The crafting method differs depending on the version and integrated mods:
- Standard Recipe (Newer Versions): 4 Proud Soul Shards + 1 Iron Ingot.
- Older Versions (pre-r56): 8 Proud Soul Shards + 1 Iron Ingot.
- IndustrialCraft 2 Integration: 4 Broken Proud Souls + 1 Steel Ingot.
3. Blade Soul Sphere
Obtained by smelting a Proud Soul Ingot in a furnace. It is a necessary ingredient for crafting advanced weapons like the "Odachi" and can also be used to repair weapons. In specific versions, left-clicking a cursed blade on a stand can transform Phantom Swords into Phantom Throwing Knives.
4. Blade Soul Crystal
Typically obtained by defeating bosses. It can be combined with a Nameless Blade possessing 1000 souls in an anvil or used for advanced enchantments.
5. Proud Soul Trapezohedron
Used for weapon binding. Place the blade on a stand or on the ground, ignite it with flint and steel, then right-click it while holding a Blade Soul Crystal to obtain it. Use this item by left-clicking a blade on a stand to bind it as your exclusive weapon.
6. FPN Core (Muramasa Extension)
This is an item from integration with the "Muramasa" extension, used for evolving Muramasa and some high-tier upgrades. Its texture is similar to the old Blade Soul Sphere, so be careful to distinguish them.
Crafting Recipe: Blade Soul Spheres in the four corners, a Nether Star (or specific star-shaped item) in the center, and Chiseled Quartz Blocks in the remaining slots.
Crafting and Types of Blade Stands
Hold the Shift key and right-click on a fence while holding different materials to craft different types of blade stands:
- Proud Soul Shard: Crafts a horizontal stand (blade and sheath separated).
- Broken Proud Soul: Crafts a vertical stand.
- Proud Soul Ingot: Crafts a horizontal stand with the blade sheathed.
- Blade Soul Sphere: Crafts a wall-mounted horizontal stand.
These seven items form the foundation for all evolution paths in SlashBlade. In the early game, it is recommended to collect as many Proud Soul Shards as possible to prepare for future weapon forging.
