Survival Transition Inn Building Tutorial

This is a building tutorial for a survival transition inn for Minecraft beginners, including a stable.

Preparation

First, choose a flat piece of terrain and prepare the necessary materials for the early stage. The materials are not complicated; if wood of a specific color is not specified, you can use oak wood for everything, and the effect won't be much worse.

Construction Steps

1. Build the Frame

After selecting the location, first make a simple frame with oak wood. Then, inside the frame, build a small, unroofed box structure, with all four sides being the same.

Required materials: Oak wood, Cobblestone, Oak planks.

2. Build the Window Wall

On one side of the frame (the 10-block side), build the window wall.

Required materials: Cobblestone, Dark Oak Slab, Stone Fence, Dark Fence.

Note: Use cobblestone to pave the bottom.

3. Build the Back Wall

Start processing the back wall (the 9-block side) to the left of the window wall.

Required materials: Dark Oak Slab, Cobblestone Wall, Cobblestone Slab, Dark Oak Fence.

Note: Also use cobblestone to pave the bottom here.

4. Build the Front Door

On the opposite side of the back wall (also a 9-block side), start building the front door.

Required materials: Dark Oak Wood, Cobblestone Slab, Dark Wood Fence, Dark Wood Slab, Cobblestone Wall, Oak Slab, Dark Oak Door.

Note: A square on the wall is created by placing two oak slabs facing opposite directions to achieve the effect.

5. Build the Roof

After processing three walls, do not process the final wall yet; start with the roof. The roof should extend one block beyond on the left and right sides, with both sides being the same.

To build the roof, use stone slabs, placing them up and down alternately. Then build the general shape with cobblestone slabs. The protruding parts are built with cobblestone.

After the frame is built, start flattening the roof using dark oak slabs and dark oak blocks, which can make the transition between the house and roof color less abrupt. Just flatten it following the frame.

After flattening, fill in the roof above the front door of the house. Do this on both 9-block sides with the same structure.

Making good use of slabs can greatly improve your building skills, preventing you from building awkward boxy structures. On the roof, use slabs and stairs for decoration to prevent the entire roof from being too monotonous.

6. Build the Stable

Start transforming the final wall, which will become the stable. Note: First remove the eaves of that wall, then process it.

Details: Remove the slabs and then place them upside down. After placing them upside down, build another eave in front.

After building the stable's roof, add some stone pillars for decoration. All are made from dark oak materials. After building the pillars and details, start transforming the wall, using dark oak so it doesn't blend into the wall.

Details and Decoration

When the main structure is complete, what's left are the details, interior, and decoration. These are points where you can use your own creativity.

  • Front Door: You can use ladders for detailed decoration.
  • Windows: Add more torches and ladders.
  • Back Wall: You can add some small flowers.

Finished Result

This is the finished result, a beginner's transition small house. The night view of the inn can be enhanced with shaders and texture packs.

Summary

The building tutorial ends here. A house built using plenty of slabs and irregular blocks definitely won't be bad. Don't just mindlessly stack blocks, or what you build might still end up being a box.

A good house can keep you away from danger, give you warmth, and make you love your save file, which is the charm of building.
