Minecraft Building Tips: Streetlights
Streetlight Building Tips
Streetlights are the finishing touch on streets or in front of houses in any building complex. Having some streetlights of your own style is essential when completing a build.
Basic Streetlight
This one is very simple—just fences and a torch. The height is up to you. It can also be used as a tall indoor lamp. While plain in appearance, it still looks nicer than just placing a torch.
Choosing a Light Source
When it comes to light sources, players less experienced with vanilla building may only think of using glowstone or torches. Actually, beacons make an excellent light source—make good use of them!
Cloud Valley Style Streetlight
This is the streetlight I used in Cloud Valley. You can choose the glass color yourself.
Bush Streetlight
This type of light is suited for placing in bushes. Covering it with some leaves improves the effect. The central glowstone can be replaced with fire (ignite with flint and steel).
Anvil Pillar
Anvils truly make great pillars.
Garden Streetlight
This one is made by surrounding with open fence gates and fences, with a light source of your choice in the center. It looks great in your garden.
